Time saving solutions for the Three Tier Process

The first step when bringing a new student on line is to enter the student information. This includes things such as name, date of birth, gender, mailing label information, etc. Once entered, this information is used to fill in the headings on all forms.

The following form shows a heading that is automatically filled out. Note that things which can be automatically calculated (like the students age) are shown in the hgeading as though you entered the information yourself.

Many things are handled automatically for you.

The biggest time-saving feature of TST Monitor 2 may be the automatic actions that are performed by the program..

One of the most consuming duties in your handling of the Three Tier Process is the calculation of dates. Even this task is automatied. The graphic above shows a section of the Tier III Instructional Intervention Documentation Sheet. The date in the pink field is always the source for a date calculation. When you click Calc Dates, all of the blue fields are filled in automatically using calculated days from your own school calendar. The date calculator is even clever enough ensure that the suggested date falls on the weekday of your TST meeting.

These calculations appear through out the process guide and other forms. Each Calc Date button handles a specific portion of the form and it is obvious by looking at the source and destination field colors what information is going to be calculated when the button is clicked. If you want to change a date for any reason, just type in the new date. TST Monitor 2 will not override your entry unless you specifically request it by clicking Calc Dates again.

There is a lot more. For example, common forms can be auto filled by using your personal templates. You can automate meeting agendas. Referal count by race is automatically generated for submission to the MDE. You can adjust your school calendar so that dates are properly calculated.

Does this save time? If you assume that there are 75 students being tracked in an elementary school. (This is a conservative estimate.) Assume that the folder for each student contains 50 pages of documentation. (Also conservative...) If it took 30 seconds to fill out each headings by hand, you would save ( 30 * 50 * 75 = 3750 seconds) 62.5 hours of pencil pushing at just one school!
